To enter the Diploma in Theology, the student-minister must have completed one of the Certificates listed below as well as a course (including examination) in either French or English. Students who do not meet these requirements may enter the program at the Certificate level and later articulate (transition) to the diploma program without repeating all of the courses already taken.
The Dip.Th. requires three years of full-time study at a pace of one intensive course per month for those centres where students have this option available. Semi-intensive delivery systems are currently under way in some areas which will provide completion of the program within five or six years. A course facilitator convenes courses, leading students through prescribed instructional handbooks for each course as developed by degree-qualified authors.
The certificate program is appropriate for ministerial or lay students with some primary education experience. The class sessions may be taught in the local dialect with focus on group interaction, discussion and verbal interaction in place of written activities and assessments. The certificate level of instruction requires three years of study in order to complete the course of study toward ordination. The students must maintain a pace of one intensive course per month for those teaching centres where students have this option available.
